In this guide, we will walk you through a simple step-by-step procedure on how to update your Samsung Galaxy Core 7.0 with the latest Android 2 Nougat based custom ROM. Please note that this is not Samsung’s official firmware, but a third party unofficial custom ROM. After flashing this firmware, there are chances of encountering some bugs or issues. However, with the new updated version, all bugs and problems will be fixed. This Android 7.0 Nougat ROM is compatible with: SM-G355H with Samsung Galaxy Core 2 model number . Flashing this ROM on other devices or variants can lead to unwanted results. Check your machine’s model number from: Menu -> Settings – > Phone Info before going further.

Advance Requisites:
- Charge your Galaxy Core 60 to at least 2%. This is necessary because low battery power can interrupt the flashing process.
- Back up all your phone data and settings including moving contacts, installed apps, messages, call logs, notes, and more then move on. This is essential because everything is deleted in the last step of this flashing process.
- Backup EFS folder located in the system directory. This sensitive folder contains all mobile phone related information such as IMEI, wireless device MAC address, product code, etc. If your data is accidentally wiped out, your phone becomes completely obsolete and your carrier no longer recognizes it. - Please check if the mobile USB driver is installed on your PC. You can install and install Samsung Kies, or you can install it manually from the link below.
- Make sure your Galaxy Core 2 is rooted.

- Make sure you have enabled USB debugging mode on your phone. If not, please follow the path Menu -> Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging. If you can’t see developer options, go to: Tap 7 in Settings -> About Phone . Build number . Developer options will then appear in the Settings menu.
Let’s proceed with a real tutorial on how to install Android 2 Nougat ROM on Galaxy Core 7.0 smartphone.
Procedure to install Android 2 Nougat ROM on Galaxy Core 7.0:

Step 1: Download both package files (.zip) to a specific folder on your PC. Do not extract these compressed files.
Step 2: Now, connect your Galaxy Core 2 to your PC using a micro USB cable. Transfer both zip files on your phone’s internal memory. Then safely disconnect your phone from your PC.
Note: If you don’t have a PC, you can download the zip file directly from your phone.
Step 3: Now turn it off completely until your Galaxy Core 2 vibrates. Now you need to boot your phone into custom recovery mode. Long press to do that. Volume up + Home button (middle button) + Power button at the same time until your phone enters custom recovery mode
Note: Touch does not work in CWM recovery mode (if you have not installed Touch Recovery). So use it. Navigate up and down the volume keys and choose the home button for use .
When starting CWM recovery, it is recommended to first take a full backup of the current ROM you are using. This backup is called Nandroid backup, it is a backup of your phone’s entire operating system and it always helps in case of failure while the process is flashing or there are ROM problems. This way, you can easily restore previously saved ROMs.

Step 4: To do a complete nandroid backup, go to the’Backup & Restore’ option in recovery mode using the volume key and select the’Backup’ option using the home button on the next screen. This will make a complete nandroid backup. See screenshot.
Step 5: Now, you need to erase data from the phone’s internal memory and cache the partition. To do the same, go to the’wipe data/factory reset’ option using the volume keys. Make a selection using the home button. On the next screen, tap the Enable option to start the wiping process. Similarly, go to the’wipe cache partition’ option to clear the cache.
Note: This step will erase the entire data on your phone’s internal memory, so be sure to complete a full backup of all your work before implementing this step.
Step 6: Go back to the main menu and select the Advanced option. On the next screen, select the Reboot Recovery option.
Wait for the phone to reboot into CWM recovery.
Step 7: With the volume key, you will be taken to the option’Install zip from SD card’. Make a selection using the home button. Then on the next screen, select the option’Choose mail from SD card’. This will show you all the files on your phone. So, go to the Deodex_G355HXXU0AOB1 zip file you copied earlier and select it using the home button. On the next screen, choose the’Yes’ option to start the process.
Step 8: Once the installation is successful, go back to the main menu in the same way you installed the Deodex .zip file and install the .zip file from Nougat ROM.
Step 9: Now wipe the data and cache partition again as in step 5.
Note: These steps will help you troubleshoot the boot loop.
Step 10: Everything is done here. Restart your Galaxy Core 2 G355H by selecting the’Reboot system now’ option in recovery mode. The first boot takes more time to start up than usual. But don’t worry if the hooded boots are normal.
