Facebook Gaming is great for Twitch and YouTube Gaming. The fight to become the best streaming platform continues to intensify, and while Amazon Twitch is still a winning service, Facebook Gaming has greatly increased its chances of success by taking advantage of the Microsoft mixer closure.

However, even without a partnership with Mixer, social media giants have invested heavily in live streaming services and have seen significant growth. We’re working on broadcasting the games that the most people love for the first time, and we have all the tools to help you rank up with a large audience on Facebook.

Then there has never been a better time to ride a live streaming bandwagon. Fortunately, we will show you exactly how to live stream on Facebook Gaming with a comprehensive guide. From creating a game page to choosing the right bitrate setting, you don’t have to look elsewhere for all the key information you need. Let’s get started?

1. CREATE A GAME PAGE

It’s very likely that you already have a Facebook account (2.6 billion monthly users on social media platforms), but it’s important to create a dedicated gaming page to reach the right audience.

First, go to’Create Game Video Maker Page’ and choose a page name. Do not change the’category’. Access to Facebook Gaming’s audience and algorithms. When you are finished naming the page, click Continue.

You can now make changes you usually make on your Facebook page, including updating your profile and cover photo, adding a description, and updating other details to tweak.

2. BROADCAST SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD

If you plan to stream your gameplay to Facebook, you should download one of the many free streaming software programs available such as Streamlabs OBS, OBS Studio, or Xsplit. There are no right or wrong options here. They all work the same way, so choose the software you like best.

In this example, we are using Streamlabs OBS to launch Facebook Gaming. First of all, download and install the software from the Streamlabs website and let the program analyze your internet speed and computer hardware to configure the best performance settings.

Alternatively, you can manually configure the settings by clicking’Settings’ in the lower left corner, then’Output’ and selecting an encoder. The two choices to consider are NVENC or NVENC New (if you have a Nvidia GeForce graphics card) or x264 which depends on your CPU.

Then you need to decide which bitrate is best for Facebook Gaming. In general, you decide the upload speed and subtract 20% to get the total. However, Facebook recommends using a bitrate of 4000Kbps, which is suitable for most connections.

Here is the key frame interval. For optimal quality, set it to 2 and choose an output value of 720p (1280 x 720) at 30 fps in the’Video’ side panel. Facebook allows high-quality streams, but if you want to access 1080p (1920 x 180) at 60fps, you’ll need to participate in the Facebook level up creation program.

3. STREAM SETTINGS

To make your stream more attractive to viewers, you need to add some elements like webcams, voiceovers, and overlays (if any). Start by creating a new scene by clicking on the plus sign near the bottom left corner. Name your scene, click Done and you’re ready to start.

I’m trying to add sources to bring the stream to life. Click the plus sign you can find in the bottom source’Source’ and use Game Capture, Window Capture, or Display Capture to add a gameplay scene. It’s entirely up to you, but out of the three options, we recommend using Game Capture as it doesn’t use a lot of hardware.

When the gameplay is displayed, you need to add a webcam to the scene. Again in the’Sources’ menu, click on the plus sign, click on’Video Capture Device’ and select your webcam and voila. You can relocate your webcam wherever you want, so you’ll find the right place for you and don’t disturb the information too much.

Finally, make sure your audience can hear you. Adding a microphone is virtually the same process. Go to’Source> Audio Capture Input’ and select your microphone.

4. LIVE BROADCAST

Click’Real Time’ on the Facebook Games page in the compose bar at the top of the feed. A new page called’Live Producer’ opens. From here, you need to copy and paste the stream key into your broadcast software. Go to’Settings> Stream’ and paste the code where it says’Stream Key’.

Once done, go to the left menu and create a title for your video. The title can be of interest to viewers who may stumble across my stream, and I need to tag the game I’m playing as well. Of course, if you don’t have to, you get fewer views. You can also add video thumbnail images and create surveys and questions that viewers can interact with.

When sorting is complete, tap’Go Live’ in your streaming software to display a preview of the stream and check the stream status. When you’re happy with the way everything looks good, hit’Go Live’ on the Live Producer page. After a few seconds you will be redirected to the’Creator Studio’ page.

 5. STREAM MONITORING

Creator studios are full of important information such as total viewers, stream information, stream status, and recently received comments. It’s a great way to get an overview of everything that’s going on live, so you’ll want to keep it open throughout the broadcast. At the end of the stream, the Creator Studio will take a detailed analysis of all the desired analytics data to help improve the stream in the future.

And that’s all. We hope that how to stream in our Facebook Game Guide gives you all the tips and tricks you need to broadcast yourself around the world.
