Dog Bath Review: An Expensive Basket for Your Puppy’s Business

Installation is easy, but with guides, installing four different pads can be time consuming and their placement can feel unreliable. It took me a while to get the clips on properly. Pad slippage from time to time is not the end of the world, but when it does, it defeats the purpose of this system. (Less problems for dogs that don’t lift their paw and don’t need this wall-to-wall covering.)

The bathroom for dogs is available in two sizes. I tried the standard model which is 28″ deep, 20″ wide and 16″ high. My French Bulldog fits easily into a bin, but you should measure your furry child to make sure the bin is big enough to fit him (and potentially a raised leg). The company also offers doggy bathroom miniwhich is better for small puppies. If you choose the standard model, you will need to consider placement in your home. I live in a one bedroom apartment and had a hard time finding a suitable place to put my trash can.

Doggy Bathroom branded pee pads are no ordinary blue and white sheets. They have a weak window glass design and are shaped to match the size of a dog bath. (Instead of the standard 22″ x 23″, it’s 27″ x 13″. The design of the lasts can be more discreet, but they’re harder to swap out. washable pads or third party Wee-wee pads. The good news is that they are highly absorbent (turn liquid to gel), contain an attractant that makes your puppy pee in it, and deodorize odors.

It wasn’t hard to get my dogs to use the toilet in the bin. They both used pee pads when they were younger, so it must have been familiar to them. Also, I have found that once my puppies pee somewhere once, they are more likely to return to that place again and again.

There is one big elephant in the room. You need to place four piss pads to cover the entire dog bath with rails installed, meaning that, depending on your dog’s purpose, you may need to throw out all four at the same time. This is wasteful compared to one or two Wee-Wee Pads that you can use at the same time. This doesn’t exactly make up for the loss, but it can be comforting to know that pee pads are made from environmentally friendly biodegradable materials. The trash can is made from 100 percent recycled plastic and the company says all bins returned will be recycled, recycled or donated.

Dog bathroom pee pads $44 for a pack of 100.$69 for a pack of 200 or $69 with monthly subscription (200 packs), although you can choose to ship once every one, two, or three months. 150 pieces of Wee-Wee Pads cost about $56 on Amazonso this price seems fair. This largely depends on how many pads you will regularly go through.

That’s definitely a lot of money for what might look like fancy storage. You can probably build your own small system for a fraction of the cost, and there are several alternatives, but none of them look as inviting as a dog bath. If the price isn’t outrageous for your wallet, it’s nice to have room for your puppies that doesn’t look terrible. The dog-sized door works well for them, and the rubber base prevents slipping. It’s just hard to realize that for the same price, cats get smart litter boxes with an internet connection.
