How to Download Videos for Offline Watching (2023): Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and More

Are you going to when traveling or suffering from patchy internet, downloading videos for offline viewing makes the experience smoother. All the best streaming services offer some way to download content for offline viewing. We’ll walk you through the entire process here – with some additional guidelines for expanding your device’s storage.

Before we begin, you will need an internet connection to be able to download videos for offline playback. Ideally, you are connected via Wi-Fi. (Make sure you have enough free space on your device as well; you can usually check this in your storage settings.) Some apps also let you download data over cellular data, which might be fine if you’re on an unlimited plan, but it will count. your monthly data limit, and your speed may be limited if you go over the limit.

YouTube Premium Subscribers can download videos to a computer, phone or tablet, provided they are logged into their account. Here’s how:

• Open the YouTube app or visit youtube.com and find the right video.
• Touch or click Download (the icon is a down arrow) below the video.
• The icon turns into a blue checkmark when the video is downloading.
• You can access downloaded videos by opening Menu (the icon is three horizontal lines) in the browser or via Library tab in the application, and then selecting Downloads.
• Downloaded videos can be played offline for up to 29 days (in some countries they are only available for 48 hours).
• To set the quality of the uploaded video, go to Settings (via your profile photo), Downloadsand choose Download quality.

Netflix Subscribers can download movies and TV shows using the Netflix app on an Android phone or tablet, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Amazon Fire tablet, Windows 10 or 11 tablet or PC, and select Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. Here’s how:
